For over the past 14 years, Chris Fortier and his Fade Records imprint has been one of the main back bones of the progressive house genre. Having released not only material from himself, but for such artists as Steve Porter, Thomas Penton, Ben Camp, Chris Udoh, and Canadian greats the Tonepushers, is one main reason why Fade has been in the front of crates for many of the worlds top progressive DJ's. Finally in 2007 as lead up to his own personal album due out on EQ Recordings, Fortier is giving us the sequel CD mix compilation Audio Tour Volume 2, mixed by Royal Sapien.

Royal Sapien delivers the goods on this two disc mix; compiling the past ten years of releases on Fade, and Fortier's sub label FDS. This two-disc set also comes with a bonus disc mixed by the 40oz (Chris Fortier himself), although the bonus disc did not have the greatest groove to it, it shows the large selection and feel of house music that Fortier has provided our community over nearly the last two decades. Highlights on Royal Sapien's two disc mix include his remix of the Tonepushers' Daydreamer, which Royal Sapien had remixed at the same time as he was working on Funk Harmony Park's My Truth. While working on the remix of Daydreamer, Royal Sapien wanted to stay with in the deep vibe of Fade, but came up with this funky hands in the air remix, which is a good setting to the vibe of Audio Tour Volume 2.

Both discs mixed by Royal Sapien have a great vibe to them that is perfect for just relaxing or when you want to get up and shake your thing. In the world of deep progressive, it's often found that releases can be on the laid back side, as displayed on the 40oz, bonus disc of this release, however having a two disc set that is rather on the pumping side of big room progressive; it is a great marketing strategy by Fortier to compile a lighter mix of releases from his label.

Audio Tour Volume 2 is one of best thought out mix compilations released to date. A listener may be put off by the bonus disc being so deep, but both of Royal Sapien's discs have a great groove and vibe to them. In all honesty the bonus disc actually balances things out, and lets a listener experience the relaxing side of progressive house. Audio Tour Volume 2 is an excellent showcase of Fortier's diverse ears, as well as Royal Sapien's mixing capabilities. After listening to all three discs it should be a sure bet that buyers will want to see both Royal Sapien, and Fortier play live.

Complete all this with a who is who of progressive house track listing, listeners are sure to be educated on some of the releases that they may have missed out on that were released over the last 14 years of Fortier's career. Overall this is another outstanding contribution to the dance music community by Fade Records, and is a must buy for those who enjoy progressive house.
