Not much is known about the duo F-Project & JSound, but those of you are into rocking progressive beats might have heard a tune or two from them. Both separately as a duo, the guys have been releasing a solid string of productions and remixes that made it to acclaimed DJ charts, and they have now teamed up once again on Swordtail to release their latest tunage, entitled White Filter.

The original mix starts off with a vivid mix of beats and percussion, old-school trance effects and a throbbing bass-line. A hypnotic vibe is created as the track really takes its time to build-up, but there's not a single dull moment to be heard. The use of delayed effects and lots of 'phasing' synthesizers create a deep, spacey progressive tune that lacks melody, but still captivates due to its buildup and dark atmosphere.

Up next is JSounds Sound Mix, a solid stomper that seems to take a more progressive trance approach. The opening synths create a warm feeling, and more and more layers of synths and waves are slowly added to the sequence. Like the original, this track aims to bring the listener into trance rather than to blow up the dance-floor, and it definitely succeeds in doing so. Lots of diversity and warmth in this somewhat trancey record, that peaks big time with spacey elements and a fantastic use of synth leads.

Closing this EP is the Morning After Mix and this one is, as the title does suspect, a great way to chill out to after a night of hardcore clubbing. The tempo is put to an easy 100 - 110 BPM, but the hypnotic effects from the original are maintained, creating in a super deep chiller to ease the mind. Warm and soothing, featuring occasional trancey stings and pulsating effects, this one is best enjoyed with a fresh cup of mint tea on an early Sunday morning.

Swordtail's 11th release is definitely one that will not go by unnoticed. The three tracks on this release breathe progressive in all its facets, with a great use of synths, uptempo beats and most of all, balance. Prog heads, be sure to check this one out as soon as it hits the scene!
