POSH! The Prince may very well be the unholy lovechild of Egyptian Lover and DMX Krew. His music is full of references to oldschool electro and slowed down Miami bass, with the man himself taking care of vocal duties.

The flamboyant live-act/producer has made quite a name for himself after moving to Berlin in November 2008, setting stages on fire with unique live shows that fuse sex, attitude, and pure rock and roll. The Batty Bass label is soon about to drop POSH! The Prince's debut EP Re-Bokk Robot: a three-track slammer including two remixes by the ever brilliant Mike Monday.

First up is the original mix of Re-bokk Robot, a basic electro track that takes us back to the days of Jonzun Crew, Egyptian Lover and Man Parrish. It's got all the elements of poppin' and lockin' electro: punchy beats, fierce claps and monotone bass sounds, with POSH! himself dropping rhymes. The result is a stripped-down but warm electro tune that will definitely do the business in the clubs.

Mike Monday's two remixes take the track to straight up house levels. His dub remix fuses uptempo beats with throbbing bass sounds, jacking percussion, modified vox and a myriad of sound effects, turning this track into a deep but effective club stomper. Mike's second remix is even more jacking with thick layers of synths, bass and effects making up a nasty floor-filler in which the vocals prove to be perfectly suitable for nu-school Berlin house music. Chunky.

All in all this debut release by one of Berlin's most original live-acts is well worth a spin. The original mix is a nice vintage electro jam that made us 'doing the robot' (to very limited success), while Mike Monday delivers two outstanding mixes that will definitely appeal to house orientated DJs.

Track-list:

1. Original mix
2. Mike Monday dub
3. Mike Monday remix
