Ebon spawned into existence in August of 2002. The duo is a synthesis of the talents of Justin Lake Whedon and his wife Melinda Anne Whedon. Their vibrant, dark mixes gestate and are birthed in and around the Kansas City area.

Since August of 2002, Justin and Melinda shifted their interests from Pod, their promotion company to the production of dark tribal House. Naming their production group under the name of Ebon, the duo has swiftly caught the eye of the House community. Their promo single 'Sleepless2' has been well received from bigger named DJs and up-and-comers alike. The track charted in the March 2003 issue of MUZIK magazine by James Zabiela, and shortly thereafter was licensed by Hooj Choons for Zabiela's upcoming mix CD 'Sound in Motion' and the triple (unmixed) vinyl of the same name. CP Recordings recently signed the track to their label.

Justin has been performing live quite a few times and he has created a rather nice local buzz with the unique and flawless mix of dark and tribal sounds. His recent CD released, 'LIVE PA', is genuine take on what Ebon is really about. On this CD Justin successfully floods the airwaves with excellent mixing and live programming, providing an implacable and seductive concoction of deep tracks with their own Ebon twist.

With a recent gig in Mexico, several new tracks in production, a white label scheduled for release with the NYC duo Astroglyde, and the prospects of many remix assignments in the future, Ebon is quickly becoming the barometer by which others gauge themselves.
