LOVEPARADE RETURNS TO SAN FRANCISCO
| ||
|
"This year's edition is set to be bigger and better with the overall popularity of Loveparades remaining high globally, demonstrated by the ongoing success of events in places such as Santiago de Chile, Tel Aviv and Mexico City." | Since the first event in Berlin in 1989, the Loveparade has spread the message of peace through beats. The original happening was a humble affair, but it quickly gained popularity with attendances topping 1.5 million by 2000. Ironically, the event's demise on its home turf coincided with the birth of many other Loveparades worldwide, with the San Francisco edition being the American take on Dr Motte's original dream. It's another landmark event for the United States after last years debut Parade. A full "Loveweekend" of festivities is planned September 23rd-25th, with the main event falling on Saturday 24th. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better than last year, with an expected 75,000 attendees dancing to the international sounds of the UK's Carl Cox, Dutchman Ferry Corsten and US natives Bad Boy Bill and DJ Dan. Above & Beyond will also be in attendance, along with Blank & Jones, Kyau vs Albert, Mike Kolgin, Markus Schulz, Crystal Method and German trance-lord Paul Van Dyk. 365Mag recently reported that the dance scene in America has been boosted by the news that two large scale outdoor shows will take place in New York's Central Park this summer. Paul Van Dyk will play at a special show on 20th August followed by the Ultra Music Festival on 16th September. Now it's seems that anything the East Coast can do, the West Coast can do too... Last year the inaugural Loveparade saw over 37,000 revellers dancing in the streets. This year's edition is set to be bigger and better with the overall popularity of Loveparades remaining high globally, demonstrated by the ongoing success of events in places such as Santiago de Chile, Tel Aviv and Mexico City. September 23th-25th promises to be great weekend in San Francisco, so hit up the link for all the essential info now. It's gonna be a hot weekend! |
