JAMES HOLDEN ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM
| ||
|
'most of his influences come from the realm of rock and punk, rather than electronica' | (London, UK) - The King of The Pixies as Pete tong once called James is about to unleash his debut artist album entitled the The Idiots are Winning. The eccentric and prodigious James Holden has left his mark on electronic music on numerous releases, many of which have been hits and milestones of musical developments. Famous for his brainchild Border Community, an imprint that has brought talents such as The MFA and Nathan Fake to a global audience, Mr. Holden is without a doubt one of the most in demand producers and performers, especially after his acclaimed At The Controls release, a mixing compilation that surpassed many musical borders whilst retaining a strong consistency. After years of waiting, and numerous musical surprises and twists, Holden has finally announced his first long-player that contains ten tracks, including the gems Lump and 10101. The other previously unreleased tracks retain a live feel though, as Holden reveals that most of his influences come from the realm of rock and punk, rather than electronica, a genre which needs a live-twist to retain the interest of the 26 year old mathematician. Frivolous as ever, the superstar DJ-without a superstar attitude has selected artwork from his infamous border community colouring competitions as the cover to his album, which might be more down tempo than his previous output. It is not unlikely that Holden, perhaps even more musician than a performer, delivers one of the albums of the year, although the wait is for the end of November when the disc is set to hit the stores.
