' ...there aren't many things Oaky hasn't done in his musical career that began on Ibiza back in 1987'

According to several sources, dance veteran Paul Oakenfold is considering a switch from music to film. Aged 43, Oakenfold stated that he wants to do his utmost to start a successful career in Hollywood. Although some of our reporters claim to have recently sighted Oakenfold strolling around the streets of Amsterdam, other gossip indicates that Oaky has moved to L.A., further evidence of his move into film.

Over the last few years, several dance artists have flirted with the global capital for movies. Dutch dance artist Junkie XL is spending most of his time working on film soundtracks, whilst trance prodigy BT is another example of an in demand dance artist and soundtrack purveyor. After garnering fame with the soundtrack to Trainspotting, a cult film that successfully made it into the mainstream, Underworld recently created headlines by providing the soundtrack to the film Breaking and Entering.

The news doesn't come as a big surprise, as years are starting to count for Mr. Oakenfold, despite a steady demand for his respected DJ skills. Besides, there aren't many things Oaky hasn't done in his musical career that began on Ibiza back in 1987, and has resulted in countless hits, remixes and collaborations with a myriad of vested artists in contemporary music. His long list of accolades also includes several film projects as well, including work on soundtracks for blockbusters such as Swordfish, The Matrix Reloaded, Collateral and Die another Day.

I respect Paul Oakenfold's decision in whatever he does. He is the biggest musical influence in my life, My favourite DJ, role model, and I look up to him. I would wish to see him play as many times as I could since I heard that hes doing a switch to Hollywood.
