SASHA QUITS GIG AFTER GLASS INCIDENT
| ||
|
'There was no intent whatsoever to hurt Sasha...' - DJMag | DJ Sasha pulled the plug on a recent gig in Newcastle after a glass was thrown towards his head. Although the DJ didn't get hit, he abandoned his set two hours before the official end. “We still don't known if the glass was thrown with the purpose to hurt him, or that it was just some drunken idiot tossing a glass over his shoulder “ says Scott Bradford, promoter of one of Newcastle's longest-running club nights Shindig. “This has never happened before, and I hope that Sasha will continue gigging in Newcastle in he future as he is very popular here. According to DJ Mag, the incident should be considered an accident. “There was no intent whatsoever to hurt Sasha, as he played an amazing set during an unannounced gig in London that has been one of the best that the city has seen in a long time.” Over the past few months, there have been several incidents in which DJ's were threatened by the audience. The last edition of the Dutch Sensation Black event saw a member of the crowd climbing on stage during Rob Gee's performance to pull a fight with the performer and his crew. A few months later, French DJ Deep was forced to cancel his set at the Rotterdam Thalia Lounge to prevent the club from getting into “Sensation-like trouble”. |
