DUBFIRE'S TAIPEI SET FOR RELEASE ON GLOBAL UNDERGROUND
| ||
|
'this album marks a clear departure from the more 'traditional' Global Underground albums.' | After the Deep Dish duo announced they would be going their separate ways for a bit, Sharam was the first to come up with a Global Underground mix of his own. He chose Dubai as the starting point for his set, delivering a relatively housey double album in the acclaimed Global Underground series, after their albums Moscow (GU 21) and Toronto (GU 25). Now, it is the other half of the outfit, Dubfire who is invited to deliver a double disc full of his favourite tunage of the moment. Staying in the Eastern hemisphere, Jet Set capital Taipei was his city of choice. A quick glimpse at the track-listing reveals that this album marks a clear departure from the more 'traditional' Global Underground albums. As styles blend into each other, with stringent borders fading, the album offers a successful blend of more underground styles including minimal, electro, techno, of course house and even industrial music. Although Dubfire has always been known as the more underground member of the outfit, the album marks a fresh change for the imprint, keeping it on track with developments within the EDM scene. Cuts include Booka Shade's well known In White Rooms, but also material from underground techno act Deetron, Yoshimoto, good old rock outfit Nitzer Ebb, Ellen Allien and Apparat, Depeche Mode, and even techno hero Alexander Kowalski. Dubfire GU031 - Taipei is released April 10 on Global Underground. Track-Listing: CD1
