Jean Michel Jarre, the best selling French artist to date with a mind blowing 72 million sold albums to his name, has announced a new album, seven years after his latest studio material. Bearing the title Teo & Tea, the album's underlying story is the classic and very human theme of boy seeking girl, and vice versa.

Jarre, born back in 1948 in Lyon as the son of a film score composer and a resistance fighter, has proven himself time and time again as an innovator, both sound and performance wise. Among his list of accolades are numerous spectacular shows, once involving a light show in la Defense, Paris, which was viewed by a record breaking 2.5 million people in attendance.

The new disc comes as a sequel to Metamorphosis, which dates back to 2000, and was more of a vocal album, after his Oxygene 7-13 and Oxygene album in 1978 garnered him his reputation as one of the leading figures in the realm of synthesis. On his latest album, Jarre, now 58 returns to his instrumental roots, brimming with polyphony, and symphonic arrangements.

In the meantime he has not been sitting still, as he has been doing numerous productions and performances in his role as UNESCO Ambassador. He was also one of the first to re-release a selection of tracks from his 15 albums in the relatively new Dolby 5.1 surround format in 2004 under the name AERO, along the likes of techno pioneer Richie Hawtin and BT.
