(London, UK) - LCD soundsystem is releasing a new single entitled All My Friends through their own DFA recordings by the end of May. The track, taken from their very successful album Sound of Silver, is already widely popular, so the choice comes as no surprise. LCD soundsystem have garnered a large fanbase in months past, including several vested musicians, which must have been the rationale for the two limited editions, which are to appear as separate singles.

Franz Ferdinand is doing the first cover of All My Friends, as they have proven worthy fans of the electronic outfit. The other reinterpretation is by John Cale, who is doing a vinyl/download release. To offer an incentive to the fans to download all versions, LCD have covered Joy Division's No Love Lost, which comes as free download with the package. A clever move amidst the current Joy Division hype, sparked off by Anton Corbijn's film about the life and death of lead singer Ian Curtis, and the rumored split of spin-off band New Order.
