We at 365mag.com are stunned by the bizarre announcement, and are interested to hear what you think. | (Amsterdam, NL) - According to Lebanese news website Yalibnan.com, terrorist organization Fatah AL-Islam, which is said to be part of the Al Qaeda network has threatened DJ Tiësto, as he is set to perform in Beirut on July 2nd. Reason for the threat is the recent Lebanese government's action against Fatah AL-Islam, which is known as an extremist, violent terrorist group. Lebanon has recently been the target of renewed terrorist activity. Last Sunday, members of the Fatah group attacked the city of Tripoli, a refugee camp, a shopping center and an upscale neighborhood, rendering them a serious threat to the DJ's and the clubbers safety. Tiësto is extremely popular in the Middle East, with many of his performances being sellout successes. He is also an icon of the west, as his co operations with Disneyland, but also the peaceful Olympic Games reveal. As his presence is very important to the tourism sector of the country, which is being sabotaged by the terrorist group, he is a crucial target, as an attack would scare many foreign tourists away. He is not the only one under threat, as Shakira had planned to come over, but mysteriously disappeared According to the news source: "Rumors have emerged that Fatah al-Islam has directly threatened to kill DJ Tiësto if dares to show up for his planned July 2 concert in Beirut. The Dutch DJ has been voted as the world's best for the past several years. On October 1, 2005, Tiësto broke records when he made his long awaited debut in Beirut. Over 16,000 showed up to party with their beloved Tiësto at Forum de Beirut, in what was been coined the largest event ever in the Middle East." 12 Reactions It is sad when Music becomes a form of artillery for terrorists to ensight their rage upon; music is a liberator and is there to bring peace into the minds of a people, where conflict is the apparent. I'm not a fan of Tieesto by any means, but this is really sad to hear. If these people put as much effort into enjoying music or life in general maybe they would realise how ridiculous their 'crusade' is. Idiots, I swear to God these fundamentalist shitheads do nothing but ruin everything! Thank God the Lebanese, be they Muslim or Christian, will not heed the call of this group as they are fed up with them and will continue to party their night off. Bunch of losers, they need a life, and a job at that. PLEASE NO MORE VIOLENCE !!! AND MORE MUSIC!! OPEN YOUR EYES TIME FOR A POSITIVE CHANGE......PEACE NOT WAR. I love Tieesto's music. Its very sad to hear that terrorists have made him a target. Music should bring out peace and unity. No matter what, I'm going to see his set, if he is coming to Finland again! Don't let these terrorists know you fear them, because then they have succeeded. Terrorism is mostly a psychological weapon! Peace and Unity! The situation here is very tense, and the fact that Fatah El Islam are threatening Tieesto is just a sign that they are trying everything in their power to destabilize the country even more! Lebanon is a country full of people who want to just enjoy themselves, and for the past year or so, we have not been able to do so, and now this situation has made things far worse, nobody dares to move around alot, the roads are always empty, it's sad. I do hope he still comes, because I intend to go if things calm down, and if they don't, then I can't move from my house. Hopefully our army will be able to deal with them properly. Sounds like some press hype to me. If they said they were going to kill him because he plays bad music, I'd believe it. Otherwise, I say it's BS. One big hoax: yalibnan.com/site/archives/2007/05/ya_libnan_withd.php Trance for Life, Trance for Peace, Trance for Eternity. 'The event organizers have also reassured Ya Libnan that no such threats exist.' Look on: yalibnan.com/site/archives/2007/05/ya_libnan_withd.php --> 'Ya Libnan withdraws false information on Tieesto death threats' Come on "Ravers" it's up to us to save Master Tieesto. I am a Lebanese who lived in Beirut for 22 years of my 28 years alive, and it comes as a shock and humiliation for us Lebanese 2 hear those idiots threatening an artist who brought nothing but love and unity for ppl in his work, but what Fatah al Islam doesn't know is that they don't own Lebanon, they can never get to Tieesto and best of all if they wanna kill him they will have 2 go through the hundred of thousands of Lebanese who loves Tieesto and respect him, don't worry world we will clean Lebanon from those pests and u will rock it on again in Beirut, Beirut belongs to the lover and not the killers
