'The man who once started out as a busboy, evolved from sound engineer to DJ, caught the attention of the likes of John Digweed followed by a substantial part of the clubbing world.' | (Amsterdam, NL) - Whether it is his widely acclaimed Original Series mixing album as released on John Digweeds hallowed Bedrock imprint, his remixes for the likes of U2, or his latest mixing compilation for Australia's Balance recordings, Luke is consistently conquering terrain and upping his frequent flyer miles with his ever inspiring blend of house, in its many manifestations, which can hardly be classified within one genre alone. The man who once started out as a busboy, evolved from sound engineer to DJ, caught the attention of the likes of John Digweed followed by a substantial part of the clubbing world. Despite his ridiculous gigging schedule, Luke freed some time for an exclusive interview, about his new album, production and studio work, and the torment he had to withstand in order to make it onto the Balance bandwagon. You literally stormed onto the scene, but rumor has it you started out as a busboy, could you elaborate a bit on this? I started working in a nightclub straight out of high school. Doing the usual tasks of glass collecting and vomit mopping. I then started playing around on the decks there, began buying records and was hooked. I eventually started playing there for an hour or so at the start of the night. After the club closed in 2000, I decided to try and pursue it full time. That's when I started producing too.
