Benny Benassi, Ferry Corsten, and Don Diablo have already signed onto the project, with their remixes scheduled for release on August 21, 2007

(London, UK) - Ultra Records has announced an exciting dance remix project that involves the influential hip-hop group Public Enemy and some of electronica's finest producers. In agreement with Reach Global (Public Enemy's publisher) and Public Enemy, Ultra Records will provide the world with the first Public Enemy approved DJ remix project. Benny Benassi, Ferry Corsten, and Don Diablo have already signed onto the project, with their remixes scheduled for release on 21st August 2007.

Benny Benassi and Ferry Corsten's remixes center around the single Bring The Noise, which was released in June 1988 on the album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. The album went 5x Platinum in the States. Public Enemy's Chuck D had this to say about Ferry Corsten's remix, “Bring The Noise is a perfect track to experiment with. Its pace, energy and lyrics make for an interesting mix of potential ideas. Ferry Corsten makes the ultimate concoction of all these elements like a mad scientist.” In regards to Benny Benassi's remix, “Benny Benassi takes his trademark house/Euro sound and incorporates traces of trance to mind-bend the listener into a haze of consciousness. Benny certainly can bring the noise.” The 1994 classic Give It Up received remix treatment by Dutch producer Don Diablo. “(it) incorporates today's modern DJ and remix techniques, giving new energy to a song that was recorded over a decade ago. With Flavor Flav and the bounce of the track, this rocks in a whole new way” was how Chuck D described the remix.

Ranked number 44 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, Public Enemy's two-decade career in the music industry has influenced artists of all genres. The Prodigy and Moby are just two of the many artists known for having sampled Public Enemy's music into their own. It will be exciting to see what artists Ultra Records approaches in the future to remix these highly coveted classics.
