It is, after all, one of the tracks that unites the new rave crowd with clubbers who've been going for it since the mid 90s. (the appeal of Higher State Of Consciousness)

(London, UK) - Josh Wink's Higher State Of Consciousness is one of the anthems that almost every clubber has lost it to at one point or another. Darren Emerson first came to prominence as Underworld's DJ, and who could forget the guys who gave us Born Slippy? Apart, these two are serious business. And together? Well, maybe you should book Monday off work just in case.

After four years away, Josh Wink is returning to The End on Saturday 28 July, to play alongside Underwater label boss Darren Emerson. The event that hosts this meeting-of-the-decks is As One presents Underwater, Emerson's label night that's long been a jewel in The End's crown. And it's the perfect time for Wink to make his return performance. His classic track, High State Of Consciousness, is being re-released at the end of the month, so his appearance here should be packed with fans old and new. It is, after all, one of the tracks that unites the new rave crowd with clubbers who've been going for it since the mid 90s. The End's main room was rocking recently when Felix Da Housecat dropped it at the Lovebox after party, so roll on Saturday for another excursion into bass-fuelled funk.

However, those who only know Mr Wink for Higher State… will be surprised if they think the tempo will be like that all night. This guy is a DJ who plays acid house and techno with a deep feel, as his own tracks Oakish and Don't Laugh showcase. A Wink set builds and dips, only to build again; he's been at this a while and knows how to get a crowd moving all night long.

Also playing on the night is Underwater resident Arveene, plus AKA hosts and Carnivals party-starters Sancho Panza.
