TURNMILLS' LAST WEEKEND ANTICS
| ||
|
' It's always sad to lose an old friend, especially one which you've got history with.' | (London, UK) - It's been 23 years of clubbing fun at Turnmills, which has gone from wine bar to rave space, but now it's all coming to an end during the Easter weekend - with a 72-hour line-up that includes superstar DJs like Fatboy Slim, the Chemical Brothers, Danny Rampling, Tall Paul, Sister Bliss and Frankie Knuckles, amongst a host of others from the venues past and present parties. It's always sad to lose an old friend, especially one which you've got history with. It seems that finally the rumours are true for once; Turnmills will be closing its doors for the last time after its Easter weekend parties…but it's not going out with a whimper, more a triumphant last hurrah that's going to have everyone lucky enough to get tickets grateful they've had once last dance at Turnmills - certainly one of London's clubbing institutions. Friday 21st March is the last Gallery bash (but the party moves to Ministry of Sound, don't worry!), with Judge Jules, Seb Fontaine, Sister Bliss, Gavyn Mytchel and of course Tall Paul in T1, plus Joy in T2 with Brandon Block and Alex P, alongside veterans Lisa Loud and Daniele Davoli, and current stalwart Tania von Pear. T3 also unites former ressies Red Jerry and Darren Christian with new stars Corvin Dalek and John Askew. Saturday 22nd March is the Heavenly Get Together, where the infamous Heavenly Social and Headstart residencies return to party with the new flagship Saturday. Savour the Chems and Fatboy in T1, alongside Justin Robertson, James Holroyd, Nathan Detroit, Sean 'Guilty Pleasures' Rowley and some of the Heavenly Records gang too. T2 boasts both Jon and Dan Kahuna, Anil Chawla, the Streetlife DJs and the Audio Jackers, whilst upstairs the Together All-Stars mash up the styles one last time. Finally on Sunday 23rd February it's the Last Dance. This party celebrates Turnmills house music parties of the past - namely London Calling, Metrogroove and City Loud. T1's got Frankie Knuckles straight from NYC, Danny Rampling (straight from retirement!), CJ Mackintosh, Ricky Morrison and Turnmills owner Danny Newman, playing back-to-back with Rampling to finish off the night. T2 sees London heads Ashley Beadle, Terry Farley, Pete Heller and Lottie keeping it house; while upstairs will be a few special, special guests, all primed for an emotional, messy goodbye to a club with a very special past. |

1 Reaction I really miss coming down from Manchester to Turnmills! It was the best club ever and with so many different club nights like Trade. They were wild nights, wish I could get my hands on a CD as a final momento.
