(Philadelphia, USA) - Acid house guru Josh Wink will release his fourth artist album next February on his own Ovum imprint. The album is named When A Banana Was Just A Banana, a reference to Josh reminiscing about the early days of electronic music...

Although Josh and his Ovum posse are well known for coming up with rather odd names for their tunes and concepts, we still couldn't help raising an eyebrow when the album's title was announced. Luckily, Josh is more than willing to come up with an acceptable explanation: "In a nutshell, it speaks really of the loss of innocence of music. Music was just music when I was growing up. Nobody was ridiculed or had views of 'I only listen to this one kind of music' - I grew up listening to everything! Today, so many people tend only listen to one style of music with a strong opinion of why... I miss the innocence of how it was... Like when you were younger, 'A Banana Was Just A Banana'."

On his new album, Josh continues with what he does best: blending house, acid and what not to techy rhythms and deep, intriguing atmospheres. The first single Stay Out All Night, released last March, has been the first official single of the album and gained critical acclaim across the globe. The album will be released in three different formats: the CD will be a continuous mix, whilst the vinyl and digital format will come with unmixed DJ-friendly tunes. Seems like the new year's gonna kick off with a major blast...
