(Minneapolis, USA) - King...Prince of all things suave and funky, Prince, has announced to release at least three new albums this year without any help from a major label. According to the LA Times, the 50-year old artist will sell and distribute the albums through his website.

Prince, The Symbol, T.A.F.K.A.P. or whatever he calls himself these days is certainly not the first artist to experiment with this new business model. In fact, he actually gave away his album Planet Earth to buyers of the UK newspaper The Mail On Sunday to much anger of Sony BMG who, as a direct result, refrained from distributing the album to retailers. It is rumoured that the first album to hit stores (working title MPLSOUND) sees Prince returning to the sound of his 1984 album Purple Rain combined to in-fashion electro sounds. The other two albums are said to be named Lotus Flower and Elixir.

We're definitely looking forward to check out those new goods from the Minneapolis Midget. With over three decades of prolific releases under his belt, we don't expect anything else but these three new albums to be fat chunks of funk.
